The Castle

A PARK BETWEEN THE WALLS OF A FORTRESS

The Castle Park on top of the Hill of the same name, has promenades and romantic corners among the ruins of the fortress, swings and even a swimming pool for the younger ones. This point has the real view of the city, a privileged balcony where to watch and enjoy the different panorama views from the newest part with the University and the football stadium (“Los Pajaritos”) through the river banks with the Hermitage of San Saturio, to the monumental and central part. In this park you can find the National Parador (hotel) Antonio Machado and an original exhibition gallery on the ancient water deposit, now unused. The great variety of plant species together with its inhabitants (birds, lizards, squirrels…) that let anyone visiting this city enjoy even more.

This place has the perfect balance only found on some parks: the exact mix of well cared of areas without refusing the wildness. Down, under the eyes of the Parador and the turns and rounds of the road, river Duero kisses the feet, with lots of landscape and beauty.
