Antonio Machado
Antonio Machado (Sevilla, 1875 - Colliure / France, 1939), the great poet of the Generation of 98, was five years as a professor of French between 1907 and 1912, where he married Leonor Izquierdo, who died in 1912. Soria was a great source of poetic inspiration as is especially evident in "Castilla fields" (1912). He was named Adoptive Son of Soria in October 1932, grant ratified in 2013. No one better than Machado has sung in verse to the city of Soria.
